What is the Freedom Project?

The Freedom Project is a start-up ministry that exists to multiply residences that equip people to live a new life, forever free from addiction and abuse.

Why is Legacy 242 invested in the Freedom Project?

While many worthy mercy and justice ministries deserve our support, the Freedom Project is especially close to our hearts. Many of our elders and members have been saved from addiction or abuse, and we've faced tragic losses that compelled us to act. For instance, in October 2019, Joe, who was struggling with addiction and had just prayed for the first time, overdosed in a CVS bathroom. Friends like Forrest, Paul, and Eric, and many others have devastated their lives and loved ones through addiction or abuse.

We must act for those we love and those we've yet to meet. The epidemic of drug addiction and abuse in our region requires effective solutions. We are committed to creating a supportive environment where residents can rebuild their lives, develop essential skills, and integrate into society as self-sufficient and empowered individuals. Through gospel-centered discipleship, long-term recovery, and holistic support, we aim to expand our reach and impact in the recovery community.

Most importantly, we believe God has called us to launch and support the Freedom Project.
